very valid observation. i think the first and foremost thing is to respect the seniors and even your peers. dont project yourself as a threat to thier jobs, instead give them a feeling of mutual respect and trust.
begin with this and this will work wonders.

The problem that most of the trainees/new entrants feel at the start of their career, is to adjust into the environemt of the organization. And sorry to say most of the time, his senior colleagues are not cooperative, so how could a new entrant be a successful team player.
