In today's society, women are breaking through the gender bias that has been the pervasive attitude in the corporate world. The following steps will defiantly guide you to have work in a good atmosphere.
•Be a situational leader. "Being in a new role is very situational and your success depends largely on your ability to handle, adjust and accommodate. Don't try to be something you're not." •Win respect. We tend to prefer working in small groups, or one on one. This is not always the wisest choice, we can learn a great deal from the way men behave in a group setting. "Men are more comfortable in large groups; they try to win respect by being center stage." •Step out of your comfort zone. Women need to step out of their comfort zone, but they can't count on that alone. We may be better at one on one, and if so, go with your strength. "Don't apologize if, after soliciting and gathering information, you need to say. Create the kind of environment that includes letting your subordinates know your expectations and getting them to meet those objectives. •Let go of the need to be liked. Female managers are more likely than their male counterparts to waiver and try to please everyone. It is not a matter of being liked; it's a matter of being respected. Focus on the business need, not on the personal needs of your staff. Remind them of 'why we are here' and make sure it's clearly communicated." •Practice leadership and accountability. There is a risk for women as managers to open themselves up to criticism and defer to others on how something is to be done. Learn from men, who more often portray the attitude of "I will listen to what you have to say, but I am the boss and I am going to make the decisions." that women managers pay dearly for indecisiveness. It costs them respect. •Learn to laugh: The ability to laugh at you, swap jokes, have fun, and make light of some situations is very valuable. Along the way I learned not to take things personally,".
